Oh Lord thank You for Your steadfast provision over my family. I pray for Your continual help in the establishment of this precious relationship between this Mother and her children. Help me to shower Your little ones with respect and honor, expecting it in return; to teach them in such a way that they would value my approval more than the lure of any indulgence; to enjoy their company and them enjoy mine; to become the Mama whom they can trust; to give them my time, attention, laughter, approval, touch, hugs, desires, silliness, fun, play and training; to have a quiet, friendly, and meek temperance - smiling often; to correct with firm rebuke on the necessary occasions and help it to be lost in the midst of our fellowship with one another; to provide a home full of safety, security, stability, and strength that allows them the confidence and freedom to be all You have created them; to care for them in a new way; to smile, laugh, and have fun; to reach out and touch them, hug them, and shower them with loving affection; to reject the negative actions and never the child; to control my mouth and the words that roll off my tongue, that they may never be short or abusive as well as the attitude that represents my heart; to stand in the authority over my flesh that You’ve restored to me through the power of the Holy Spirit; to fill my home with love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness. Lord, lead me in how to train them in their problem areas with Your Word; to stay calm and always be relaxed in my responses to them; to have compassion on my children. Soften my heart towards them. Lord, God, I need Your strength, Your comforting words of encouragement, and Your hand of leading. Build this home and establish your throne inside! Create in us a humble spirit striving only to serve You! In Jesus powerful name I pray that all Your wonderful and precious riches would fill the rooms of my home and consume our lives and hearts in such a way that it would overflow!! I thank You Lord for Your faithfulness! Continue to be all that You are and remember us oh Lord!
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

I love my husband. He is such a good man.
He has a continuing desire to always be loyal
to God, me, and his children.
He is faithful and trustworthy.
He is always there to support me, encourage me, defend me,
and correct me where it’s needed.
And I am so thankful that he only has eyes for me!
I am more blessed than I deserve.
I love him more than I could ever express by what I do or say.
He is the perfect man for me
…
even as the imperfect man that he is.

We celebrate Christmas a little differently than most. Instead of having our kids believe in a pretend man, we’ve told them about a real man who lived a long time ago named Saint Nicholas. We all have a chance to pretend to be “Santa” by giving gifts to those we love and marking the tag “From Santa” as a way to bless them without receiving praise or recognition. Santa in our family is a fun way of mimicking a real man who did good and gave cheerfully and self-lessly.
It’s always fun to hear my eldest daughter’s responses to the many times asked question – “Are you excited for Santa to come?” I’m sure if it were asked differently, they’d get a different answer but my favorite response that left me surprised and giggling was the following:
Uncle: Are you excited for Santa to come?!
DD#1: *giggle* No! That’s silly! Santa’s not coming, he’s dead! *giggle*
Oh so priceless. LOL!
So… apparently too much emphasis on explaining that the fat jolly old man in red is not the real Santa because the real Saint Nicholas died a long time ago. Now we’re working more on the people pretending to be Santa bit.
I just can’t get enough of this girl…
