Looking at his disciples, he said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied.
This goes deeper than material poverty and physical hunger. It speaks of a hunger “for righteousness” and being poor “in spirit” which is in contrast to the spiritually proud and self-sufficient.
I will be satisfied; God will supply my need. He has promised, and as Number 23:19 says, He is not a man that He should lie or change His mind. When He speaks, He acts; when He promises… He fulfills!
Lord, I hunger and thirst for You. May I lean on You and You alone. Be my source and supply of all my needs. Fulfill me with the satisfaction only YOu provide. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
