Consider the cost and make the choice.
Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:3-4
House used in this context is from the Hebrew word bayith meaning a home, a palace, or a family. Built is from the root word banah meaning to build, obtain children, create, repair, or set up. It is by wisdom and skill that this house will be built. It is through diligent and eloquent instruction (tabuwn; biyn) that it will be faithfully fashioned and be made ready (kuwn); by discernment and respect (yada’) that the rooms will be made full and satisfied (male’) with precious and valuable (yaqar), delightful and sweet (na’iym) riches.
She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Proverbs 31:27
Wisdom plays an active role in the home-building process.
…faith without deeds is dead. James 2:26
One without the other is useless. Faith should follow with action in perfect timing according to God’s Will.
Through these [glory and goodness] he has given us very great and precious promises. 2 Peter 1:3-4
God has made all available in which we need. “Glory” expresses excellence of God’s being -his attributes and essence. “Goodness” depicts excellence expressed in deeds -virtue of action. He is what we need to succeed.
“A man can receive only what is given him from heaven.” John 3:27
Our gifts in building the house are determined by God alone. We must remain humble and use the gifts given for God’s perfect plan and purpose.
Therefore Jesus told them, “The right time for me has not yet come; for you anytime is right.” John 7:6
We must work in accordance to the Father’s Will as Jesus did. When doing so we’ll know the exact time we must wait, and the right time to move forward. We were given a free will to choose… to choose between what we want or what God wants. We must choose to submit to God’s will and to stop living in our own.
