A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much. Proverbs 20:19

Gossip is dangerous… it’s hurtful and harmful to all involved even if it’s done lightly and without malicious intent.

If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. James 1:26
